What are the achievements of VKIC?

The VKIC has organised a number of seminars and workshops thus far in which reowned scholars have participated from all over the Northeast. They have deliberated upon the methods of preserving the continuity of the culture, incorporating the beneficial elements of the modern currents.

--->Notable achievement of VKIC was the establishment of its Reference Library on 22 August 1998 – which specialises in reference materials of all variety encompassing the cultural heritage of Northeast.

--->The VKIC has initiated a memorial lecture series to commemorate the achievements of the cultural icons of Northeast India. The first of the Vedanta Vachaspati Radhanath Phukan Memorial Lecture Series was held in 1997 and was addressed by Dr. Karan Singh, who spoke on 'Vendanta in the Nuclear Age' . The second lecture of the series, held in 1999 was addressed by eminent scientist Dr. N.S.Rajaram, who spoke on the theme 'culture and Nationalism'

--->VKIC features is intended to create a corpus of media work to generate awareness about the unexplored or hitherto lesser known heritage of the northeast. A numberof articles have already been published in the local print media to this end.
